Total

25

Total time of the exam is 60 minutes. So you get almost 15 minutes to answer these 25 questions ie; 0.6 minute for 1 question.

  • The very first thing to do is read the question thoroughly and completely and avoid guess works. You can use the rule of elimination in case of confusing options and try to get the answer.

For example,

Which body framed the Constitution of Independent India?

A. Drafting Committee

B. Constituent Assembly

C. Union Constitution Committee

D. A Working Committee

We are all aware that the Constituent Assembly was constituted on November 1946 under Cabinet Mission Plan. The total strength of the Constituent Assembly was 389. It comprised of several Committees to deal with different tasks. Some of the major committees are Union Constitution Committee headed by Jawahar Lal Nehru, drafting committee headed by B.R Ambedkar . So you can eliminate options (B) because the other options are based on the sub committees.  Among the other options, it’s the drafting committee that framed the constitution. So answer is option (A).

  • Focus on Important topics – Static GK and General Science: The exam usually has more questions from Static GK than Current Affairs. Therefore, focus more on static GK and simultaneously stay in touch with Current Affairs. Also, try to prepare the subjects in the following order of priority:

Science  Polity  History  Geography  Economy  Miscellaneous

  • Practice Previous Year Question Papers: Try to practice as much previous paper as you can. But don’t forget to follow the current structure of the exam, as the exam pattern keeps on changing from time to time.
